In this 5-week art series, we will explore the Principles of Art through fun, hands-on holiday projects! Each class focuses on a different principle—like color, texture, balance, and space—while students experiment with watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and mixed media.

We’ll create a seasonal art collection that celebrates fall and winter, from colorful autumn leaves to snowy Christmas trees and mixed-media ornaments. This class builds confidence and creativity while helping students understand how to use the principles of art to make their work come alive.

  • Nov 10 – Falling for Color: Autumn Leaves Tree 
    • Medium: Watercolor & Ink / Mixed Media Focus: Color, tints & shades
  • Nov 17 – Gratitude in Texture: Leaf Collage
    • Medium: Oil Pastels, Crayons & Paper Collage Focus: Texture, shape, unity
  • NO CLASS THANKSGIVING WEEK
  • Dec 1 – Winter Wonderland Landscapes
    • Medium: Chalk Pastels or Acrylics Focus: Space, depth & perspective
  • Dec 8 – Acrylic Christmas Tree on Canvas 
    • Medium: Acrylic Paint on Canvas Focus: Color, value & form
  • Dec 15 – Mixed-Media Holiday Ornament / Snowflake 
    • Medium: Paper, Cardboard, Recycled Materials Focus: Symmetry, balance & form

  • Program Policies

    At Studio on Main, we want every experience to be fun, creative, and worry-free. Our policies help keep things running smoothly so all participants can enjoy their time in the studio.

    • We don’t offer refunds, but registrations can be transferred or credited toward a future session if needed.

    • Each class is uniquely planned and prepped, so makeup classes aren’t available — but we promise every project is worth showing up for!

    • All supplies are included — we just ask that students care for materials and help tidy up their space.

    • We foster a positive, encouraging environment where creativity, kindness, and respect come first.

    • We love capturing the fun! Photos may be taken during class; let us know if you’d prefer your child not be included.
